Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American actress and musician. She started by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed lyrics in rap that dealt with topics like race and sexual orientation. Then she expanded her fans to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her very first musical experience. She performed on the trumpet. She also received the classical and jazz education later when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. While in college, she took classes in writing and women's studies. She even spent an hour studying Mandarin in Beijing. She didn't start focusing on music until after she finished her studies. The track My Vag, a response track to the Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in 2012. The track was later included on the album debut Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album featured other hit songs that went viral, such as the body-positive Queef and winking hometown tour NYC BitcheUSD. The song was directly connected to the album Awkwafinas NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. Following a career that was successful as a performer and songwriter, she took on the character of actress. In addition to early shows like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors and Storks. In 2018, she scored breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile movies like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she debuted her debut film, In Fina We Trust.
