Antonia Lofaso

Antonia Lofaso's cuisine is an invitation to explore the depths of her cooking. Her food inspires curiosity. This was the result when she left into the Long Island suburbs and entered the rich cultural scene that is Los Angeles. Cavatelli, carnitas and various other cuisines can be found within a menu. This is a constantly evolving taste. All of her dishes are inspired by a distinct perspective for the future but also with a nostalgic look at the past. Inspired by her heritage as an Italian-American, Lofaso opened Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 that was immediately a hit. Lofaso's interpretation of traditional Italian is regarded as one of Los Angeles' most compelling Italian restaurant chains. Customers describe Scopa as an essential local institution where Lofaso regularly serves food that is inviting authentic and undeniably satiating. Lofaso studied under some of famous chefs and learned the latest techniques, but was never afraid to go against her gut intuitions. She rose quickly through the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago and went on to revamp several high-profile kitchens in Los Angeles while working closely with numerous celebrities. Lofaso created Black Market Liquor Bar with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi in Studio City, California. Her home was within Black Market Liquor Bar and her business partnerships. Lofaso was able to enjoy the freedom to create the work she longed for through this partnership. The goal of Black Market is to not be constrained by any means. It could start with Dill chips and then Shishitos peppers. Following that is an Korean wing and finally meatballs. What binds this diverse variety of tastes is Antonia. Through her entire career, Lofaso has judged her accomplishment by her innate ability to comprehend her audience and remain true to her own personality. In the course of her career, both Top Chef Chicago episode and Top Chef: All Stars demonstrated her capability to communicate her personality outside of the kitchen. In the years since, she has continued her professional career before cameras, including judge on CNBC's Restaurant Startup Judge and recurring appearances on the Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child. Lofaso teamed up with Penguin at the end of 2012 in order to launch The Busy Mom's Cookbook 100 Recipes to prepare Delicious Home-cooked Meals. This book also describes her struggles studying at an institution called the French Culinary Institute and raising her daughter Xea. Lofaso believes that her success is due to her passion of cooking and she is capable of keeping her finger in the middle of the industry through her work on the kitchen. Through her Chefletics brand, she is revolutionizing the aesthetics of her field by redesigning chefwear for both style and functionality. Lofaso believes in being true to yourself and your vision. To achieve this, she's launched Antonia Lofaso Catering. The new business will give personalized experience for clients.
