Anamaria Marinca is an Romanian actress. She won the British Academy Television Award Best Actress for her Channel 4 film Sex Traffic. French, German English and Romanian are all spoken fluently. Her father is a theatre instructor at one of Romania's top drama schools. In the Mangalia Gala of Young Actors in 2000, she took home the Best Female Actor Award 2000. In 2008 The European Film Promotion Board recognized her as the first European Shooting Star. The film won the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other prizes (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI prize). Also, she appeared as a child in the film of Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth. In 2008, she played Yasim in the BBC's Five-Episode The Last Enemy. Marinca was a part of The Romanian drama Boogie and Oliver Hirschbiegel's well-known Five Minutes of Heaven. Later, she had a major part in the film Fury in which she portrayed a German woman named Irma Aunt of Emma.
